Can You Help?
1st Port Nelson Scouts is a non-profit group with a more than 80-year history in Burlington, and we have lost nearly all of our camping equipment due to theft of our equipment trailer. To continue to serve our local youth we are asking the community for help with our fundraising campaign.
The majority our group camping and activity equipment was stored inside our group’s equipment trailer, which was stolen in October 2021. The theft was reported to the Halton Regional Police, but the investigation revealed no evidence to help locate suspects. We attempted networking through community and social media but that failed to turn up the missing equipment or trailer.
We have lost almost everything – tents, stoves, lanterns, cooking gear and more – all of which was either purchased or collected over our history. We need help to replace this gear so we can continue to offer quality outdoor programming for youth, which is especially important now during COVID.
We have received encouragement and support to establish a this campaign. Any donation would be of great help and we have set-up with two ways to contribute:
- Donations of any amount can be made via Go Fund Me
- Donations requiring a tax receipt can be coordinated via email@example.com through a donation to the Scouts Canada national office.
Please Note: Any donations made via Go Fund Me will not receive a tax receipt.
1st Port Nelson Scouts was founded in 1940 and currently supports youth members from Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton and Milton. Youth are registered in Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, and Venturer Scouts
